Museum Ho Chi Minh City ( ancient Gia Long Palace)

The Museum Ho Chi Minh City nowadays was built up from 1855 to 1890. 

At the beginning, this building was intended to be a commercial exhibition hall. But when the construction was finished, it served as the residence of the Governor of South Vietnam (Cochin China). After the August Revolution (08/1945), it become the head office of  South Vietnam provisional administrative committee.
After the Geneve agreement in 1954, it was the "Palace of South Vietnam Governor," then "Gia Long Palace" of Ngo Dinh Diem and "the Supreme Court" at the time of Nguyen Van Thieu.
Since August 12, 1978, it was serving as the Municipal Revolutionary Museum of HCMC. The museum displays the main contents as follows:
* Some features of ancient Saigon under the invasion of French colonialists.
* The movements to resist against French colonialism before the foundation of Vietnamese Communist Party (1859-1930).
* The propagation of Leninist Marxism into Vietnam, the foundation of Vietnamese Communist Party, the movement of Saigon-Giadinh people against French colonialism under the leadership of the Communist Party in the years 1930-1939.
The South Vietnam Rise in 1940 and specially the August Revolution in 1945, the foundation of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam and the establishment of provisional administrative resistance committee in South Vietnam (1930-1945).

Vietnamese Historical Museum

It was called Blanchard de la Brosse, named of the Nam ky Governor - the founder who had it built in 1927. When the French withdrew (1954), it was changed to National Museum
On 23/8/1979, HCMC People' Committee determined to found Vietnamese Historical Museum in HCM City there
The project is on the left of the zoo, designed by Delaval, a French architect.
The museum collects above 5.000 antiques of Vietnamese and Indochina culture as Champa, Khmer, Laos, Indonesia and Japan, China...particularly stone statues, stone steles, ceramics, people' dresses of more than 1.000 years


War Remnants Museum

Located at 28 Vo Van Tan St., District 3, this is the most popular modern museum. It contains many photographs, maps and exhibits. Opening hours are from 7.30 am to 12 am and 1.30 pm to 5 pm daily.


Ho Chi Minh Museum

Located at 1 Nguyen Tat Thanh St., District 4. Here, 21-year-old Ho, having signed on as a stoker and galley-boy on a French freighter, left Vietnam in 1911. The museum houses many of Ho personal effects, including some of his clothing, sandals and other memorabilia. The museum is open from 7.30 to 11.30 am and 1.30 pm to 4.30 pm, Monday to Friday; on Saturday & Sunday, it stays open until 9 pm.

Ton Duc Thang Museum

Ton Duc Thang Museum was established to the memory of 100 years his birthday ( 20/8/1888 - 20/8/1988). It was the private palace of the Prime Minister of the ancient Saigon

 The Museum displays the life and Career of the President Ton Duc Thang ( also Bac Ton) - a great patriot, an unyielding soldier. . .

Today, the museum consists of 7 showrooms. There, the life and the career of President has been expressed lively by more than 600 items, documents and pictures

This was the palace of the Manager of Police Force General Office of the ancient Saigon - Nguyen Ngoc Loan
In 1984, it was assigned South Women Traditional House and then South Women Museum, now
The Museum consists of 2000 m 2, displays the traditional foundation and defence of the country of the southern women. There are one conference hall - 800 seats, one projection room, one library and one depot of thousand items, rare pictures.
Opening from 1985, it is being a central activities of culture - education, science seminar, traditional meeting, cultural exchange of women to preserve and develop the fine culture of women


Ho Chi Minh Campaign Museum

Ho Chi Minh Campaign Museum generally presents the determination of the whole Communist Party, the whole people in the south liberation to unify the country and the pinnacle is the Ho Chi Minh Campaign on 30/4/1975.

Besides, the Museum consists of an electronics mock-up measures 60 m 2, one projection room with 100 inches ,one showroom about Nguy General staff, fine art, weapon, a complete introduction of a historic period in the final moment of the anti-resistance war

This Museum is established by the decision of City people's committee on 5/9/1987.

This house inherently belong to a Chinese named Hui Bon Hoa who has built in the end of XIX century,Western architecture including 4 stories. This is one of a few private house of ancient Saigon. The museum displaying the Vietnamese fine art from the antique to the modern. Besides, it is introducing stone statues... of the Oc Eo, Champa cultures

HCM City Geological Museum was established in 1954, is one of two Geological Museum of Vietnam. Right here, there are 20.000 kinds of stones, 50 collections of ancient creatures, sample of mineral in typical Vietnamese miners, collections of standard mineral in the world.

Coming here, you can find the processes of Vietnamese geology (about 4000 million of years up to now) to find out how these geological evolutionary (universe, tectonics, magma, sediment, degenerate, weather) have attacked on the shape of the earth. The image of the rich national resources has expressed lively by these collections.

Geological Museum also supplies of collections of stones, or for the studying of pupils, students and researchers. The museum also guides HCM City inbound and outbound tour

It another name is No 7 Military Force Museum, 2,5 ha area

All the exhibits, mock-ups, objects on display express the process and developing of South East Armed force.

The content consist of 3 parts:
- From the first armed organization (Phu Rieng group in 1930) to the armed force in the anti-French resistance war (1945 - 1954).
- South East Armed force in the anti-American resistance war (1954 - 1975).
- No 7 Military Force in build and defense of the nation and international duties (1975 – 1995)
