Foreign dishes:

There are many types of international cuisine available in the fine restaurants and hotels of HCM City.

Russian cuisine: Russian cuisine is famous for its black bread and vodka. Most Russian dishes are usually prepared as a soup or otherwise use generous amounts of butter. Smoked meats, salmon are also Russian favorites.

 

Italian cuisine: Italian cuisine centers on pasta of which there are many types but the most famous is spaghetti. Usually the fresh pasta is cooked just before eating and accompanied by various sauces such as tomato, meat and seafood. Pizza is also another symbol of Italian cuisine.



German cuisine: German dishes are less usually seasoned than others, sugar is rarely used. Ham, sausages and cold cuts are favorites. German bread is good but the German beer, which is made from fresh barley and yeast, is very special.

 

Indian cuisine: North & South Indian, Vegetarian and non-vegetarian cuisine. The chief Muslim cook prepare Halal food. Specialties include Tandoory chicken, Kababs, Samosas, Chatny tikkas, chicken tikkas...

 

French cuisine: French dishes are seasoned thoroughly, usually served with bread and salad. Some red or white wine should also accompany all meals.

 

Thai cuisine: Thai cuisine is very popular. The dishes are simple to prepare but bear a unique and unforgettable flavour due to the use of natural seasonings and spices such as fresh peppers, citronella, and lemon grass. Thai-style hotpots have become one of the favorite dishes with city dwellers. Thai-style hotpots are almost always served at parties and especially weddings.



Japanese cuisine: Japanese cuisine is usually eaten uncooked. Especially fresh raw seafood with lime and wasabi, accompanied by sake wine. The predominant flavour is sour, and the dishes are always decorated nicely. Rice and soy products are necessary ingredients of traditional Japanese cuisine.

Chinese cuisine: Chinese cuisine is the most famous of all Asian cuisine. Chinese cuisine uses more vegetable, less meat, and is characterized by the generous addition of fat and oils. Peking duck is one of the most famous dishes.
